Automatic
Backwashable Cartridge Filter
The FLOWGUARD automatic backwashable cartridge (ABC) filter system is a cost-saving alternative to replaceable cartridge liquid filtration systems. It utilizes barrier media and regenerates the filter elements through its highly effective automatic backwashing capability. Filter media is rejuvenated by flushing clean liquid from the units large built-in reservoir the filer elements. During the regeneration cycle, the system delivers sufficient pressure and volume to effectively clean the cartridge filters in just 5 seconds. This process eliminates the need for cartridge replacement, resulting in significant parts and labor cost savings. It also eliminates the waste disposal problems associate with replaceable cartridge. In addition, the FLOWGUARD filters programmable logic controller enables hands-off daily operation so the unit can operate safely and effectively without operator attendance.
Absolute Filtration assures superior performance and dependability. The FLOWGUARD filter cartridges are of stainless steel construction. As a result, the backwashing process can be repeated through many cycles, providing long-term high-performance service. The Flowguard filter can be used as a primary or polishing filter and is available with 2 micron capability. Designed as a complete skid-mounted unit, the FLOWGUARD filter easily integrates into your application with its basic, straightforward interface requirements. The Flowguard can also be designed and manufactured to comply with individual customer specifications or for one of a kind application.
Here are some of the FLOWGUARD features and benefits:
OPERATING PROCESS
During
normal operation of the
FLOWGUARD filter, unfiltered liquid flows into
the lower portion of the vessel and passes through the filter
elements into the upper section of the vessel. There, a portion
of the clean liquid remains in the built-in reservoir for backwashing:
The regeneration cycle begins by isolating the vessel from the dirty liquid inlet and the clean liquid outlet. The reservoir is then pressurized by the use of air or gas and afterwards the vessels backwash valve is opened, this allows the clean liquid in the reservoir to pass down through the filter elements into the lower portion of the vessel and out through the backwash outlet. This high-pressure, high-volume flow effectively cleans the filter elements.
At the conclusion of the regeneration or backwash cycle, the dirty liquid inlet valve and the vent valve are reopened and liquid flows back into the vessel and purges any air or gas out before the outlet line is reopened or normal filtration operation resumes.
